Not blinking

It's 2:38AM and I'm wide awake because I'm afraid of what the world is going to look like for my kids. They're seeing Santa in 8 hours at the Hard Rock and I'm worried about the progression of gun violence from somewhat predictable gang activity and thefts to more random acts that end in suicide in suburban and rural communities. There's a contrast there that scares me.
